Spend an enjoyable  few hours wandering around Beamish on Sunday. We would have visited Santa but the queue was too long, and we may have had a skate on the ice rink, but likewise there was a big queue there also.

It was our Stitch-in-9 Christmas meal last week, instead of giving a card to each other, we made a little Christmas tree and here are a few of them.

Thought I better sit down and make  a few cards, otherwise it will be here  and gone before I have even started.

Home Sweet Home
Contemporary Knitting & Crafts
1 December – 31 January 2013

It’s this time of the year when the Gallery showcases an exhibition derived from a community project exploring the boundaries between fine art and craft. For the past three years we have had knitted extravaganzas from A Victorian Christmas, A Grand Tour to Once Upon A Time produced by our resident knitting group The Materialistics but this year we have something slightly different.
Home Sweet Home is an exhibition made up of work by The Materialistics, Stitch-in-9, North Tyneside Arts Studio, Bill Quay Farm, ST Libraries knitting groups as well as individual artists and makers from across our region, all under the theme of Home and Garden.

I hope you can spare the time to see this colourful exhibition at the Customs House, South Shields.
You won't be disappointed.

I thought the yarn for the above teddy was difficult to work with, so I changed the yarn to make the one below. This was even worse to knit with and I liked the first teddy best.

Charlotte is a little nearer to being finished. May change her  hairstyle, as its the feather I was going to embellish her head with.

Charlotte has now got part of her new jacket on.
